Had a great Fourth of July weekend – hope you did too. Everyone in Chicago was out enjoying the great weather we had — lucky us — and that brings up an interesting point. Chi-town seem to be benefitting from the whole climate change thing! While the Northeast has floods and the West has record heat waves, Chicago is enjoying the perfect middle. Summers and winters are definitely milder than they were ten years ago. So, hooray for us, I guess.
Anyway, sometimes I run across strips that I think are too schmaltzy or too sloppy to post, and then I remember what the magic of color can do to a sketchbook doodle!

The last panel should say, “I almost didn’t mind having to wake up.”
